“GauGin" is inspired and created on the land of an ancient ecologic Finca in the Genal Valley, neighboured by the whitewashed Andalusian village of Gaucín in Southern Spain.
The Gaucín-village is of Roman Origin, and its name has not been changed since. Home to just under 1600 inhabitants, it holds a great deal of history in a highly valuable ecological area, the Genal Valley. The Genal Valley is the greenest and purest part of Andalusia, offering great views over Gibraltar and Africa.
Besides oranges and lemons, the following plants, found in GauGin’s Garden of Eden, form the DNA of GauGin®: juniper, wild rosemary, wild thyme, lavender and wild sage. These carefully selected herbs and sun-ripened fruits grant GauGin® its unique character and exquisite taste.
The property is set 700 meters above sea level, and it is exactly this altitude to which the fruit and herbs owe their high quality. Because of this altitude, the temperature in winter never drops below freezing, and it does not get too hot in summer. Thus, the organic fruits and herbs take longer to ripen. This makes for a purer product.
The estate – right in the middle of an ecologically valuable area – is a jewel of nature where only organic work is done. Therefore, we say with pride that "When it’s loved by nature, it will be enjoyed by you".
